Property Maintenance Advisory (PMA) personnel include John Atchison who is a Professional Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in design construction and project management of commercial and domestic structures. His skills developed over that time assist him in providing reports detailed in our SERVICES section.

PMA reports are concise, include:

  • Photographic evidence
  • Review of documents and relevant codes and standards
  • Researched opinion on the causes
  • Detailed rectification procedures
  • Cost estimates for rectification procedures recommended and based on labour and materials required at current rates

PMA reports are provided promptly with an inspection within 10 days of acceptance of a consultancy agreement and the report within 10 days of the inspection.

A quotation will be provided before commencement on a precise brief, or a fee estimate on an open brief.

Our Personnel

John Atchison

John Atchison is a Professional Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in design, construction and project management of commercial and domestic structures.

He is a registered Professional Engineer PE0000774 and for many years consulted to the Owners Corporation Industry through his previous company BUILDCHECK.

Previous experience contributing to his expertise includes working with a property developer and a building product manufacturer. His earlier career included structural and civil design.

John has given evidence in most jurisdictions including VCAT, Magistrate, County, Federal and Supreme Courts.

Scott Curtis-Griffiths

Scott Curtis-Griffiths is a Building Consultant/Project Manager with over 20 years’ experience in Project management, Construction and Estimating of residential and commercial structures. He has a Construction Management Degree and a Certificate in Carpentry is a member of FESA and the BPDS.

His expertise is derived from previous experience in the following: 

Project Management of residential and commercial construction projects, including reporting and management of the rectification of project issues.

Estimating which included preparation of construction estimates, bill of quantities and cost summaries, time schedules and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers.

All aspects of Carpentry including, set-out, framing, cladding, fixing and fit-off.

His earlier career included working for building firms in the UK and Australia.

James Atchison

James Atchison is a Building Consultant with over 10 years’ experience in design, construction & project management of residential and commercial structures. He is a member of the Victorian Building Consultants Institute, HIA & FESA and worked for many years in the residential building industry.

Previous experience contributing to his expertise includes management of a property development company, cost estimating for building projects, owners corporation committee treasurer & real estate purchasing and property management.  

He has consulted for body corporations, insurance companies, property developers and residential & commercial property owners.

His earlier career included working for Investment Banking & Accounting firms in the UK and Australia
